Emerald Coast Acupuncture was founded in 2011 by Brian D. Snyder, D.O.M., with the vision of serving the community, and assisting humanity in strengthening the body, relaxing the mind, and uplifting the spirit.  My mission is to assist the entire human family in obtaining optimal health, emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually.  My policy is to treat every client with dignity and first-rate care, in other words, the way that I like to be treated. Unlike other medical systems that lean toward being cold, and treating people like numbers,  Emerald Coast Acupuncture treats everyone with the love and respect we all deserve.

Brian D. Snyder, Doctor of Oriental Medicine, Acupuncture Physician

I, Brian David Snyder, B.M., Doctor of Oriental Medicine, Acupuncture Physician, earned a Bachelor of Music in 2001, specializing in Music Composition, from the University of South Florida.  I had a great Love for musical theater and singing in choirs.  Listening to Les Miserables was paradise, to me.  After college, I was unable to make a living doing what I was trained in, and what I Loved, which was writing music, singing, dancing and performing.  I moved to New York City to become a singer-songwriter, and worked temp jobs all around the city, in places like Victoria’s Secret Design Studio, and the College Board.  I was even a singing elf in Macy's, like David Sedaris in the Santa Land Diaries.  While working as a music publicist on 52nd Street in NYC, I attended a concert that radically altered my life experience.  When I was listening to one of “our” bands from the agency out in a club, there was a harmonic convergence of sound that doubled the waveform, causing my left ear to "pop."  All sound lost it's distinction to my ear, and everything sounded like gurgling.  This was the beginning of an incessant ringing in my ears, which took away my ability to experience music as I had before, profoundly and deeply.  This led me into a state of deep depression.  For a musician, losing hearing is more than devastating, to say the least.  This was the beginning of the testing of my faith in life, and endless Love.  How could this happen to me???  What do I do now?

I entered a state of deep depression for years, as the Western doctors said that there was nothing to be done for my ears, or my hearing.  I had almost completely given up hope on life, or improvement for my condition, when my mother discovered acupuncture.  After my first treatment, the ringing began to subside, and my hearing began to improve.  This is when I knew that I had stumbled upon something very special, and that my life would never be the same.  I became fascinated with all things Qi (life-force energy.)  I followed my acupuncturist around, and he taught me the yang-style 108 of tai chi, in addition to other forms of qigong.  I decided to dedicate my life to healership, and applied for acupuncture school in Austin, Texas.

Ten years and 3,740,862 experiences later, I graduated with a Masters degree in Oriental Medicine from AOMA, Graduate School of Integrative Medicine.  While in Austin, Texas, I explored a variety of healing modalities, including qigong, yoga, reiki, Reconnective Healing, crystal healing and more.  During that time, I "channeled" a book called, "Reclaiming Your Soul: Working With the Mystery (Awakening Your Authentic Self in an Insensitive and Spiritually Detached Society.)"  There was so much Love for the ineffable and Divine pouring through me that I could barely contain it, which led to other complications for me, living in a society currently entrenched in separation consciousness.

Among my many blessings, I was given the opportunity to study a very special form of qigong called Sheng Zhen Qigong: The Qigong of Unconditional Love, from a highly successful, master teacher, Master Li Junfeng.  I knew that this was a very special form of Qigong when I began to practice, and from seeing the big smile on Master Li’s face on a daily basis.

I passed challenging national board exams administered by the NCCAOM in Acupuncture Point Location, Foundations of Chinese Medicine, and Herbology.  I am now fully licensed to practice acupuncture in the state of Florida, and look forward to serving the community.

I enjoy surfing, stand-up paddleboard surfing, skateboarding, songwriting, qigong, tai chi, standing in nature and listening with a smile on my face, standing in the theater at NWFC and feeling the positive energy, performing in musicals, singing in choirs, participating in groups that work toward a larger goal of creating something beautiful, imagining how things "could be," listening to celtic music, listening to Sarah Brightman, Libera and Celtic Woman in awe and reverence at the glory of creation, and gazing in awe at the beauty of anything.  Check out "Stay With Me," by Libera.  It reverently rocks. Of course, Coldplay still has the biggest hold on my Heart.

I like crab pizza from Pickles in Grayton Plaza.   I love Europe and the hillsides of Ireland.  I like Mikey from Orange County Chopper.  I love Paul Jr. Designs.  www.pauljrdesigns.com.  I love quality craftsmanship.  I like creativity and creation.  I love being able to pay my bills.

I am grateful for all of my guides and teachers, seen and unseen.  I thank my friends, family, and Dr. Wu, for supporting me in the only ways they can, in realizing my vision for a healthier, happier humanity.

I dream of one day opening healing centers, operated and maintained by healers, where anyone can go at anytime to heal.  The concept of these healing centers is unique, and (other than the Casa de Dom Inacio in Brazil,) nowhere to be found at this time.  In my healing centers, the high vibration of the Love Qi field simply permeates and disintegrates disease.

Brian's greatest inspiration, other than Lilou Mace, is John of God of Brazil.  Of course, my greatest inspiration is Love, itself.

I am national board certified and fully licensed to practice acupuncture in the state of Florida.  I look forward to assisting you in your healing journey.

Sincerely,

Brian
